Exhaustion, seemingly a common affliction but also one for which only ultra-wealthy celebrities are ever treated, has overcome Demi Moore. Whether it was the rigors of trying to keep the interest of younger ex-husband Ashton Kutcher, who is 33-years-old, or something else entirely is up in the air. What is clear, however, is that before she went into treatment for “exhaustion,” she was partying it up with her young daughter, Rumer Willis. Maybe trying to keep up with the 23-year-old is what did her in.

The 49-year-old actress went out on January 11 wearing a short black skirt and a striped sweater. Arriving at Beacher’s Madhouse at the Roosevelt Hotel at about 11 P.M., she was at first rather reserved, but began to heat up as the night wore on. Said one person who was at the scene that evening, “When she first arrived, she kept to herself, but she started loosening up and getting into party mode. She seemed really happy to be out with her daughter’s friends.”

It didn’t appear that Moore was drinking that evening, but did seem to be enjoying the attentions of young men, especially 90210 actor Ryan Rottman. Said the same source, “She found ways to touch him all night, and at one point when he was in front of her, she was grinding on his butt. His shirt came unbuttoned, and she started tickling his bare chest playfully.” That does, indeed, sound incredibly exhausting, so perhaps that part of the mystery is solved.

Buzzle: Entertainment & Media

Once upon a time, in the deep jungle, there lived a creature called human being. He lived in the midst of nature, along with his furry jungle friends. He lived in sync with his surroundings and had a complete understanding of his co-inhabitants as well. Everything was perfectly harmonious, until our human became a person.

Now armed with his highly developed brain, he started considering himself superior, especially in comparison to the other animals. As he began marauding nature, his ‘super intelligence’ caused him to believe that he is above all. He distanced himself from his natural abode, away from his animal friends.

Currently, our person lives in his buzzing world, a little devoid of his natural instincts. Having lost all memories of his jungle life, he now considers other animals inferior, capable of doing some very dopey things. Want proof? Here goes…

Misconceptions about Animals

A startling number of people among us believe that we are genetically related to monkeys. Considering how much we know about ourselves, the following myths about animals should not take us by surprise. And before we begin, we are closest to gorillas and chimpanzees, not monkeys.

Myth 1: As Blind as a Bat!
Or maybe not! Bats are not blind per se, although they do rely heavily on their sense of hearing. They have a system where they emit ultrasonic sounds to produce echoes that help them locate their prey, even in the dark. In fact, some bats are known to possess excellent daylight vision.

Myth 2: Bulls See Red
The poor creatures are blind to the color red. It is the movement of the cloth that the bull takes offense to, certainly not the color. So why does a matador only use red? Maybe it goes well with his fancy gold costume, or better, let’s just ask the Spaniards.

Myth 3: These Charmed Snakes
Before you slam the snake community for their terrible taste in music, spare a thought for their hapless condition. Snakes are deaf, so the swaying is definitely not inspired by the music. They are tuned in to vibrations all around them, so it is either that, or the movement of the instrument that makes them sway.

Myth 4: Something’s Fishy
Is it a fish? Is it an amphibian? No, it’s a whale, and it’s a mammal! A marine mammal, to be precise. They have a nose on top of their heads, and they rise to the surface at specific intervals to breathe. They are descendants of regular mammals that lived on land. It was 50 million years ago that the whales shifted their residence to the sea, and have been happily living there ever since.

Myth 5: Hide me, Quick!
For all those who thought an ostrich was trying to escape an attack by burying his head in the ground, shame on you! There is a belief that an ostrich buries its head in the sand because if it can’t see the predator, it means that the predator cannot see him. The truth is, as he buries his head in the ground, he could simply be exploring it. The ostrich may have a pea-sized brain, but humans don’t.

Myth 6: This Pole, That Pole
To begin with, Arctic is in the North, and Antarctica in the South. Polar bears are found in the Arctic, penguins live in Antarctica. They never, ever exchange poles. Repeat these lines ten times a day.

Myth 7: Now You See Me; Now You Don’t
Chameleons are very good at blending in, but when they change color, that’s not what they have in mind. A chameleon changes colors according to variations in mood, for instance when it feels angry or threatened, or even when it is at peace. It’s more like having a conversation, except we humans don’t understand the language.

Myth 8: Who Stole My Water?
I hate to ruin this one, but camels do not store water in their humps. They have their tummies for it. The hump actually stores fat, which gives them energy for their long journeys, but still, it’s not the same as water.

Myth 9: ‘Ear Me Out!
Earwigs do not have a predilection for residing in human ears, and this is the complete truth. While it is true that they love dark, damp places, human ears don’t catch their fancy. But if you insist on further assurance, there is a bone in your ear that will stop any insect from getting inside. Happy?

Myth 10: Sorry, Garfield; Sorry, Odie
Our favorite domestic pets are also victims of human naïvety. We have always tried to attach some kind of explanation to every little thing about cats and dogs that strikes us as an oddity. Cats are often labeled sinister and unfriendly, whereas every dog is assumed to be Lassie. And we all know the list is endless.

It is time we stop being so pompous about our sharp rise on the evolutionary scale. These smart animals have fooled us into believing things that are an insult to our so-called intelligence. Wake up and listen to the laughter echoing throughout the animal kingdom!

Nope, that’s incorrect unless its a very specific problem to the motherboard you have nor do driver updates generally change much in terms of the PCI-Express driver anyway. In almost all cases the cards work just fine. Besides neither a driver or BIOS update will change the PCI-Express spec from 2.0 to 2.1.

SiNce you have an Intel chipset, it’ll do no harm to install the latest Intel Chipset Device Software update which you can find here: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta…adType=Drivers

Since you have an Acer your main concern should be the quality of the components in the system. The stock power supply will not handle most aftermarket graphics card and the computer cases do not tend to provide good cooling.

Post the model of the Acer system, it should be on the front or on a sticker on the side.

Things have been rough for Demi Moore since her split from Ashton Kutcher, and now she’s pulled out of her cameo gig in the film “Lovelace.”

It’s since been revealed that Chloe Sevigny will be filling the void by joining the lineup of actors for the upcoming biopic.

The “American Psycho” actress is set to play a feminist journalist assigned to write about “Deep Throat” porn star, Linda Lovelace.

Currently in production in Los Angeles, CA, Amanda Seyfried stars in the lead as Lovelace with Peter Sarsgaard as Chuck Traynor.

Meanwhile, sources say that Demi will be focusing on her treatment after she was rushed to the hospital on Monday (January 23) for what was termed a “substance abuse problem”. She is currently under physician care.

According to TMZ, Moore was picked up by paramedics on Monday night at 10:45 p.m. following a call to 9-1-1. The medical personnel spent a half hour assessing the 49-year-old at her residence before whisking her away to receive treatment.

The TMZ report adds that she is currently seeking “further professional assistance,” with her rep stating, “Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health. She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends.”

In related news, it has just surfaced that Demi Moore had a wild night on the town with her daughter Rumer Willis two weeks prior to her hospitalization.

The mom and daughter duo hit up Beacher’s Madhouse at the Roosevelt Hotel on January 11th and partied until the place closed down.

During the course of the evening, Demi was all over “90210″ stud Ryan Rottman, with an onlooker telling press, “She found ways to touch him all night, and at one point when he was in front of her, she was grinding on his butt… his shirt came unbuttoned, and she started tickling his bare chest playfully.”

What is it?

MUN (Model United Nations) is a simulation of the UN (United Nations) in which student delegates meet in conferences around the world to discuss, debate and form resolutions to various problems in the world that are happening right now. These problems are divided into different categories of debate (Committee Rooms). Every delegate in the conference is given a country to represent and participates in the committee room that he or she has chosen. In these rooms delegates will debate topics related to the room they are in. Delegates will choose which room they would like to participate in based on the topic of debate they are interested in. The object of every room in the conference is to form resolutions that solve the issues at hand. These resolutions will be debated on and then either passed or failed; more on that later. A student can also become a chair, a president, admin, or other position in a conference, but many of these positions require some experience. Essentially the goal of any MUN conference is to give students the opportunity to debate, dress, and act just like delegates of the actual United Nations. This aspect of MUN means that before participating in an MUN conference Students must prepare weeks before the conference if they are to feel comfortable and succeed in the conference.

Preparations:

Before any MUN conference, a good delegate will prepare for weeks before the conference. It is of course all up to the delegate (or the delegate’s teacher) how much work will be done. In the end though, the most prepared delegate is the most successful. What is involved in preparing for a conference? Well there are many things to be done. A delegate should first research as much as they can about the country they have been given and then start to complete written work they will need for the conference (the work that is needed for a conference varies with different conferences). The basic works needed include policy statements, (statements summarizing the counties’ views on the debate) an opening speech which will inform the delegates committee room on the main points the delegate would like to focus on in the debate, and resolutions which are written by the delegate in the perspective of his or her country that attempt to resolve the issues at hand. Once all of these are completed and polished, a delegate is ready to participate in the conference.

Committee Rooms:

In all MUN conferences there are a number of committee rooms a delegate can choose from. These include The Security Council which tackles issues having to do with the security of countries and dealing with any threats to the state of security of the world, ECOSOC (Economy/Society), which debates any issues that have an effect on the economy and/or society, Human Rights, which debates issues of human rights around the world, and the General Assembly, which debates general issues that are not specific to any other room. The Committee rooms stated above are not the only rooms in the conference but are some of the main ones. Every conference has its own unique committee rooms.

The Conference:

Every MUN conference will have a different agenda but all will include the following: an opening ceremony, time for merging resolutions, debate time, voting time and a closing ceremony. The opening and closing ceremonies are mainly there to celebrate the conference but also to inform delegates of what will be happening in the conference and what the goals of the conference are. After opening ceremony delegates will need to go to their committee rooms at which they will do their opening speeches and meet the chairs of their committees (Chairs are the people who are in charge of the committee rooms and will control the debate). After opening speeches the chair will allow the delegates to merge resolutions (this means that delegates will meet with each other, polish resolutions, sign on to resolutions, and some will become main submitters of a resolution). After merging resolutions each delegate will be signed on to at least one resolution for each topic of debate. Main submitters of a resolution are those who wrote most of the resolution and who will be the first to speak about it. After merging, the chairs will open debate time and allow the delegates to debate one resolution at a time. In some conferences delegates will be forced to speak at least once but in others the delegate has the choice. After each resolution is debated the chair will allow delegates to vote for or against it and will then move on to the next resolution. It takes a few days to debate all the resolutions but this is the basic order of events in Committee rooms. When all resolutions have been debated the committee room will close and the delegates participate in the final event: The closing ceremony. This is always carried out in different ways so I won’t talk about it but after the closing ceremony, the conference is officially over.

My Experience and a few tips:

I have participated in some MUN conferences including one in South Africa and one in Qatar. Before my first conference, I was full of worries about the conference. I was afraid I would be called on unprepared among many other things. However after my first conference I was reluctant to leave the conference. It is a great experience and there are many things to take away from it. I would recommend MUN to anyone interested in debate (it’s also great for college resumes). I feel that if a delegate is active in debate, gives many fruitful ideas, and is friendly, then that delegate has had a successful conference. If there is one tip that I think is most important it is to speak as soon as you can in the debate. If you speak early (even if you don’t think what you’re saying is great) then you won’t have to worry about being picked on by the chairs and getting caught unprepared (as I once was). Apart from that, there is nothing to worry about and in fact you will find yourself wanting to do it again. Good luck!

Sarah Burke was a pioneer in the freestyle skiing arena, having become an X Games star and an instrumental figure in moving superpipe into the Olympics. Burke died yesterday after a January 10 crash during a training run left her injured. Noted Peter Judge, CEO of Canada’s freestyle team, “Sarah was the one who, in a very positive way, stood in the face of adversity and asked, ‘Why not?’ What she would have wanted was for her teammates and others in her sport to stand up and also say, ‘Why not?’ To benefit from the significant opportunities available to them, being able to compete in the Olympics and the X Games. Those were the things she wanted and cherished and fought for.”

Burke was a four-time Winter X Games champion, and crashed during a training run in Park City, Utah a few weeks back. According to a statement released by her publicist, tests after the accident indicated “irreversible damage to her brain due to lack of oxygen and blood after cardiac arrest.” The statement also read, “The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude for the international outpouring of support they have received from all the people Sarah touched.”

Those who knew Burke have nothing but nice things to say about her, both as a person and a professional. “She’s probably one of the nicest people I’ve known in my life, and that’s about the only thing I have to say about it,” said superpipe skier Simon Dumont. Jeremy Forster, the program director for U.S. Freeskiing and U.S. Snowboarding, noted that Burke would be remembered “first, as a friend, and then as a competitor who constantly inspired them to do greater things. She was a leader in her sport, and it’s a huge loss for the freeskiing community.”

Sd card has to be manually held in to read

My 8gb kingston SD card which has worked fine for a year was pushed to far into my computer one day (past the click/lock thing) and it got stuck so I had to pull it out with a paperclip and tweezers. When I pulled it out I noticed that it was scratched at the back but only on the plastic part but now whenever I try to normally put it in my computer or camera it doesn’t read. But if I push it farther then the click the device recognizes it but won’t let me record video or put files on. Does anybody know how I could fix this?

UnhappyExternal Hard Drive Issues

I have an Iomega hard drive that is fairly new. It serves as a backup for all of my documents, pictures and music files. I just purchased a new HP laptop and was in the process of organizing all of my music files on the hard drive. The other day I tried to transfer a file to another folder but it told me that the file could not be accessed. I also tried deleting the file, but that would not work either. After this happened, I began to get messages about my G:/ drive (the Iomega) not being able to be accessed and it keeps telling me that it needs to be formatted. I know that this will erase all of my files and I am trying to find a way around this. I also noticed one time when I plugged the Iomega in that it said NTFS. So I’m wondering if maybe my computer has reformatted the drive or something? I really don’t know what to do and I don’t want to lose hours of work that I have done to get my files organized!! Please help!!!! Thank you!

“You would not believe the quality of the applicants we heard from when we posted our Director of Marketing ad,” an HR buddy told me. “I wouldn’t believe how great they were, or I wouldn’t believe how horrifying they were?” I asked.

“Horrifying,” said the HR guy. “Typos, misspellings, no experience, unrelated experience, you name it.”

“And yet…” I began, and my friend cut me off. “And yet the unemployment rate is nine percent. I know. Where are all the people when you need them?”

“I can think of four people who’d make incredible DIrectors of Marketing for you,” I said. “You won’t hear from them.”

“Why not?” asked my HR pal, and I said “Because they’re done with Black Hole recruiting. They won’t lob their resumes into one more yawning abyss. They’re through. They’ll get their next jobs through friends, or they’ll consult. The better the candidate, the more strongly s/he feels about that. People are sick of being abused and disrespected in those bureaucratic, unfriendly systems. It’s like getting chewed up and spit out.”

“Ouch!” said my friend. “I know, it’s hard to hear that, because you think you’re getting a good sampling of the labor pool when you run your job ads,” I said. “But you’re not. Tons of the most capable and most rockin’ people aren’t even in the mix. You’ll never hear from them.”

“It’s easy to forget how daunting and discouraging the typical corporate hiring process is,” I continued. “Try it. Fill out an application for an open job at your own company, one day. You’ll be amazed. Those things take hours to complete. They strip any creativity or humanity out of your history and background. They ask the most ridiculous questions — the name of your supervisor and what you got paid at every job you ever held – instead of asking you things that a hiring manager really needs to know, like how you view the role and what you’ve already accomplished at other jobs. If you get an interview, you’ll wait weeks to hear anything. If you interview multiple times for a position, you may get a two-sentence email ‘No thanks’ as a reply.”

“But we have a hard job to do, responding to all the applications,” said my friend. “But that’s because job-ad marketing is so lousy,” I replied. “We don’t market our companies’ products and services on the side of a barn, so why would we think that a job ad splashed all over creation is going to get us great candidates? Also, have you read a job ad lately? They’re awful! They say things like ‘The selected candidate will possess yada yada and this other thing, have a taxi driver’s license, speak Greek and tap dance.’ Why do we talk about The Selected Candidate? Who refers to their next wonderful employee, the very person they’re trying to reach in the job ad, in the third person? It’s crazy. We’re pushing talent away.”

“I see what you’re saying,” said my friend. “Employers can’t get great people because the system itself is broken.”

“It’s broken,” I said. “Employers run ads. They’re not happy with the caliber of the responses. They run another ad. Meanwhile, job-seekers are disgusted. They don’t want to take the time to customize their resumes for every situation, because they’ve been burned before. It’s a vicious cycle.”

“What can be done?” asked my buddy, and I said “Employers have to fix this one. Some of them already are, abandoning the Black Hole system for a simpler, friendlier, more human recruiting style. It’s not rocket science. They need to look at their hiring processes objectively, and ask ‘Why would anyone want to work here?’”

“That seems like a worthwhile question to answer, even if you weren’t having trouble snagging talent,” said my friend.

I couldn’t agree more.
